X2 Critical member EAS International recently supported a sea shipping line with a special operation to move ship spares from France to Hong Kong. The shipment was transported by air and totaled 7 pieces and an additional large crate. The crate measured 336 x 334 x 80 centimetres.
EAS was called for the shipment because a French sea shipping line needed to replace cylinder heads, so a cargo ship could get underway and continue its journey with minimal delay. The shipping line called EAS International and requested to organize an emergency shipment to be completed within 3 days. The shipment would be 7 pallets and a large cylinder.
The cylinder proved to be a minor challenge, but that was easily remedied with a special collection, and the convoy that was charged with transporting the massive cylinder did an exceptional job. The size of the cylinder also limited aircraft selection, because it only fits in the nose door of a 747. EAS International found an airline that could service Charles de Gaulle Airport with a Boeing 747. EAS's partner for the air transport was Air Bridge Cargo.
This door-to-door ship spares movement totaled 10,000 tons of cargo and met its deadline of 72 hours. Another successful movement for X2 Critical member, EAS International.
